The Three ‘B’s

My name is Tetiana Brotherton. I am an Integrative Counsellor and the founder of 3B Counselling. My 3B philosophy incorporates Being, Believing, Becoming.

Being’ means offering a grounded, non-judgmental presence where clients feel truly seen and understood. Whether you are navigating shame, compulsive behaviours, trauma or relational pain, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a safe space for honesty and healing. It is a space for you to explore your emotions, stories and experiences that may have never been voiced before; a space for developing awareness around thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations; a space to start recognising your patterns and reconnecting with yourself.

Believing’ is an invitation to clients to explore their beliefs about self, others and the world with gentleness rather than self-criticism. As our work deepens, we explore how past experiences might hold you back or make you feel stuck. I support you in developing more empowering and compassionate ways of seeing yourself; help you to replace shame and guilt with understanding; foster self-awareness to enable you to regain control over your life and enhance relationships with people around you, creating meaningful and lasting change.

Becoming’ is not about ‘fixing’ – it is about growing and integrating new ways of being to move forward. Together we explore and develop healthier coping strategies, look at ways to improve and maintain relationships, to help you move towards a life that is more authentic and fulfilling.

Why I Specialise in Sex Addiction

In my early clinical work, I noticed that some clients used compulsive sexual behaviours as a coping strategy to manage stress, anxiety, anger, shame and other challenging emotions, unmet relational needs. This inspired me to study the deep, often misunderstood and mistreated nature of compulsive sexual behaviour and how best to support clients struggling with it.

One might argue whether it is addiction and how it can be treated. I conduct an in-depth assessment that can help answer those questions and provide a thorough understanding of what’s beneath the surface and whether it causes any detrimental effects to one’s life.

I understand how isolating and confusing it can feel to struggle with it. You are not alone — and you are not broken. Together, we explore what is going on for you, work through shame, and gently reconnect you with a sense of agency, clarity, and self-worth. We work collaboratively to help you move forward.
